Method 1 – Attach Image as Document

This is a simple and straightforward way to send uncompressed images over WhatsApp. And it works particularly well when you are sending just one or two images. As the name suggests, this method involves uploading an image by masquerading it as a document file.

For this, open WhatsApp and go to the chat you want to send the uncompressed image to, and from here, tap on the attachment ‘clip’ icon and choose ‘Document’. By default, WhatsApp usually lists the recent (non-image) documents. You can click on the “Browse other docs’ option on top and then navigate to the folder where your image is present, choose it and click on ‘Send’.

Method 2 – Zip and Attach Image

As we mentioned earlier, the first method works fine if you are dealing with just a couple of images. And even though, it can be used to send multiple images, the process becomes tedious. To deal with this here’s an alternate method. For this method, we are going to use the File Commander and QuickPic app. Alternately, you can use your preferred app of choice.

By now, gauging by its name, you must have had an idea about what this method is all about. Unlike the previous method, where we uploaded the image as a document, this method uses ‘Zip’. For the uninitiated, ‘zip’ is an archive file format that supports ‘lossless data compression’ — a type of data compression algorithm that allows you to reconstruct the compressed data, back to its original state, without undergoing any loss of information.
