Qualcomm says the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 is designed to offer “cutting-edge performance and the entire arsenal of Snapdragon Elite Gaming technologies to run all Android games, play cloud gaming libraries, stream games from a home console or PC, and enjoy entertainment from your favorite Android apps“.

It features a Qualcomm Kryo CPU and Adreno GPU. The Adreno GPU on the platform opens the door of opportunity to run games at ultra-smooth 144 frames per second and 10-bit HDR. In some cases, the GPU drivers are also updateable to optimize the gaming experience per requirement. On the whole, this processing prowess makes the platform ideal for native as well as cloud-based gaming.

Speaking of, when available, the platform will enable users to stream their favorite games from their favorite cloud-gaming platforms like Microsoft’s Game Pass Ultimate or the Steam library.

As already mentioned, the G3x Handheld Gaming Developer Kit comes as a collaborative effort between Qualcomm and Razer. It will be available exclusively to developers to provide them access to high-end graphics and superior connectivity so they can explore its capabilities and take full advantage of elements such as the controllers, thermal headroom, and large (and high refresh rate) display to come up with new and interesting titles.

With mobile gaming being one of the biggest entertainment industries out there, this comes as a welcome move from Qualcomm that can further the gaming experience on handheld mobile devices.

One of the biggest highlights of the developer kit is that it eliminates a lot of the bottlenecks usually encountered on mobile phones during gaming and offers the highest possible levels of performance on a mobile device.
