How to View Wi-Fi Password of the Connected Network

It’s easy to find the passwords of Wi-Fi networks your iPhone’s previously connected to, right from the Settings app. To use this feature, first, update your iPhone to iOS 16.

After this, follow these steps to see the password of the connected network on your iPhone:

Launch iPhone Settings.
Select Wi-Fi.
Click on the Info (i) button next to the SSID of the Wi-Fi network to which you’re connected.
Tap the Password field on the following screen.
Depending on your iPhone, you’ll now need to authenticate yourself using Face ID or Touch ID. Do this, and you should see the password of the Wi-Fi network in plain text.
Tap the Copy pop-up on the screen to copy the Wi-Fi password.

How to View Saved Wi-Fi Passwords in iOS 16

Alternatively, if you want to see the password of a Wi-Fi network that you previously connected to, i.e., one of the saved Wi-Fi networks, follow these steps:

Open Settings.
Go to Wi-Fi and click on the Edit button in the top-right corner.
Authenticate yourself using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device’s passcode.
Tap the i button next to the SSID (or network name/Wi-Fi network) whose password you want to view.
Click on the Password field, and it shall reveal the Wi-Fi password.
To copy this password, simply tap the Copy pop-up on the screen.

How to Delete a Known Wi-Fi Network You No Longer Use

If there are any known Wi-Fi networks that you once used but no longer need anymore or don’t want your iPhone to connect to, you can delete them using these steps:

Launch the Settings app.
Select Wi-Fi and click on the Edit button at the top.
Authenticate yourself using Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode, depending on your iPhone model.
Hit the red minus (–) button next to the Wi-Fi network you want to delete under KNOWN NETWORKS and tap on Delete.
Finally, hit Done to remove the network from the list. In case you accidentally deleted a network you didn’t intend to, click on the Cancel button in the top-left corner.

If you have the iCloud Keychain sync enabled, then as soon as you delete a saved network from your iPhone, it will also get removed from all your iCloud-synced devices, such as your iPad, Mac, or any other iPhone.
